  10. 2 teaspoons freshly ground black masala (Indian spice blend)
  11. 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  12. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  13. 2 teaspoons salt (to taste)
  14. 1 root curry leaf
  15. Chopped coriander for garnish
  16. 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
  17. 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil

Steps to cook roasted beef

  1. Rinse and clean the beef pieces thoroughly.
  2. Mix the meat with 1 teaspoon of chilled powder, salt, turmeric and black pepper and 1 cup of water in an instant pot for 20 minutes and let it steam naturally. (chaka meat is tender and cooks faster than flax and other beef)
  3. For ventilation, turn the steam lid on the IP lid and place the meat in another bowl (save the sauce for later use).
  4. Turn on stir fry (keep using the same inner pot) and add some coconut oil, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Sprinkle with mustard seeds.
  5. Now add the ground ginger and garlic and stir for a few minutes until the raw smell is gone.
  6. Now add the chopped shallot along with the turmeric and salt and fry until the onion is soft.
  7. Add the onion and green pepper and stir for a few minutes until it becomes slightly translucent.
  8. Now add all the spice powders: red pepper, black pepper, coriander powder, cumin powder and 1 teaspoon of black masala (hold a little longer)
  9. Mix the spices well with the sautéed onion and 1/2 cup beef jerky.
  10. Cover the IP with a glass lid and cook for 2 minutes until the masala is well cooked and the fat starts to separate.
  11. Now add the fried beef pieces.
  12. Mix the beef and masala well on a sauté (less than medium) setting.
  13. Check the salt, add more oil if necessary, and cook for 10 minutes covered and another 10 minutes uncovered. Mix between them.
  14. Once the meat has dried and the fat has come off, mix it with some black masala powder and add the remaining curry leaves.
  15. Turn on the IP to reheat/serve hot, garnish with chopped cilantro.
  16. Tip Once the meat is dry, you can transfer it to a large non-stick pan and fry even more slowly👍😊
  17. Tip #1: The longer you want the beef mixture to dry, the longer you should keep the food on the stir-fry setting, but keep stirring in the middle (so the ingredients don't burn and stick to the bottom of the pan!)
